We refuse to compromise on quality in our restaurant. That's why we only import the finest authentic Italian ingredients as well as sourcing fresh Welsh ingredients from local businesses.
At Giardini di Sorrento we don't believe in luck, we believe in preparation... and our team of chefs, headed by Giovanni Pane, spend many hours creating fresh homemade Italian pasta, sauces, and desserts, inspired by the authentic flavour of the Sorrento Peninsula. Recreating recipes handed down for generations in our families in Sorrento.
With over 20 years of experience cooking in the finest restaurants in Sorrneto, our chef Giovanni and team are excited to present their vision to you and all our guests.
Being mentored by Massimo, our caring and committed staff, will ensure you have a truly Italian experience, whether you choose to dine in our 80 seat restaurant or order from our Italian takeaway and choose to enjoy restaurant quality food to dine at home.
Our restaurant is available for private events: weddings, business lunches, dinners, festive parties and more. We would love to discuss how to be a part of your next event.
We are always asked what inspires us?
Why we aim to push a little harder to provide an experience that is distinctive and authentic in the hospitality industry?
...... being born and brought up by my family in Sorrento, my mamma e papa owned the main delicatessen on the Piazza Tasso in the very heart of Sorrento. As I grew up my passion for Italian food and drink was overwhelming and my expertise grew as well as interest in travelling that intensified from meeting the increasing number of tourists that flooded into Sorrento from all corners of the world.
When I was old enough I took the opportunity to travel around the world, visiting sites and experiences that highlighted the importance of homemade food and the passion from cooking Italian recipes that have been kept alive through generations.
After arriving in the UK, I worked in London for many years. During the evenings, i learnt how the British hospitality system worked and during the day time I attended school to further my knowledge of the English language. It was during this time that I made life long acquaintances, one being Gaetano Monteriso.
I ended up travelling to Wales and settled down in the beautiful Capital City of Cardiff. In 2016 I established our little 'Garden of Sorrento'. With a small budget, but the love and support of my brother in law, Giovanni Pane, Gaetano Monteriso, my family, friends, and suppliers who believed in our dreams too, our restaurant was born.
